Relive the 80’s! McIntosh Theater presents the musical The Wedding Winger on February 19th, 20th and 21st, all at 7pm. Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for adults. They can be reserved by emailing info@mcintoshtheater.org, or can be purchased at the door.

Based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. It’s 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

The Advanced Drama class presents Bob: A Life in Five Acts, Friday, December 12, at 7pm. Admission is pay what you can.

Bob chronicles the highly unusual life of Bob and his lifelong quest to become a “Great Man.” Born and abandoned in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant, Bob energetically embarks on an epic journey across America and encounters inspiring generosity, crushing hardships, blissful happiness, stunning coincidences, wrong turns, lucky breaks, true love and heartbreaking loss. Along the way, Bob meets a myriad of fellow countrymen all struggling to find their own place in the hullaballoo of it all. Will Bob’s real life ever be able to live up to his dream? BOB is a comedic exploration of American mythology and values, the treacherous pursuit of happiness, and discovering what it means to be truly “great.”

First, thank you to everyone who auditioned. We had some difficult decisions to make. Much of the decisions were based on singing, since the acting, in general, was very good. After three performances of Five Kinds of Silence, we have raised $2233.91 for Promise Place. Thank you to everyone who attended and donated, and thank you to everyone at Promise Place for the wonderful work you do. I cannot be prouder of all that the cast and crew have accomplished. Next stop – the regional one-act competition on October 18 at the Henry County Performing Arts Center.

First, come to Five Kinds of Silence – see below for tickets. Second, bring one of the following items that Promise Place needs: toilet paper, paper towels, hand-sanitizer. Promise Place provides housing to victims of domestic abuse and these are some of the items that are badly needed.
