We’ll have a read through on Thursday, July 13 at 2pm in the drama room. If we have enough people, we’ll read Good Kids. If not, we’ll do Dark Road or another play I have in mind. Please email if you plan on coming. I’ll post by Tuesday what play we’ll read so you can get a head start on it (I’ll also post the script).

Here’s a model I’ve been working on for the Urinetown set. I’m still working on the other scenes, and I’ll post them once I finish them. My current thought is that the rooftop and the amenity would stage out the entire time, though maybe pushed further to the sides when not used. I think distressing and aging everything will be a lot of fun! Oh, Neil Diamond and Darius Rucker will most likely not be in the cast.

The spring play will be Radium Girls.
Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. As the case goes on, however, Grace finds herself battling not just with the U.S. Radium Corporation, but with her own family and friends, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire.
Auditions will be after school on March 2nd and 3rd. There will be a sign up sheet on the drama room door. You should prepare a 1 minute dramatic monologue and you will be asked to read a short section from the play.
